How to make a Ceylon Balck Tea – OPA

  • Ceylon black tea leaves (OPA grade)
  • Fresh cold water
  • (Optional) Milk, sugar, lemon, honey to taste

  • Teapot
  • Teacups
  • Teastrainer or infuser
  • Kettle
  • Spoon

  1. Boil fresh cold water in a kettle. Use 1 cup water per 1 teaspoon of tea leaves.
  2. Place the Ceylon black tea OPA leaves into a teapot or directly into a teastrainer/infuser. Use 1 tsp leaves per cup of water.
  3. When water reaches a rolling boil, take it off heat. Let it cool for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour the hot water over the tea leaves. Let steep for 3-5 minutes to fully infuse flavor.
  5. Taste the tea after 3 minutes. Steep longer if a stronger flavor is desired. But be careful not to oversteep or it may become bitter.
  6. When tea has reached desired strength, remove infuser or strain tea into teacups.
  7. Add any desired milk, sugar, honey or lemon to taste.
  8. Serve and enjoy the smooth, rich flavor of Ceylon black tea OPA!

Caution: Be careful not to burn yourself when pouring the freshly boiled water.
