- Ceylon black tea leaves (OP grade)
- Fresh cold water
- (Optional) Milk, sugar, lemon, and honey to taste
Equipment:
- Teapot
- Teacups
- Teastrainer or infuser
- Kettle
- Spoon
Instructions:
- Boil fresh cold water in a kettle. Use 1 cup of water per 1 teaspoon of tea leaves.
- Place the Ceylon black tea leaves into a teapot or directly into a teastrainer or infuser. Use about 1 teaspoon of tea leaves per cup of water.
- When the water reaches a rolling boil, take it off the heat. Wait about 30 seconds for it to cool slightly.
- Pour the hot water over the tea leaves and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. This allows the full flavor to infuse.
- Taste the tea after 3 minutes. If a stronger flavor is desired, let it steep a little longer. Be careful not to oversteep or the tea may become bitter.
- When the tea has reached the desired strength, remove the infuser or strain the tea into teacups.
- Add any desired milk, sugar, honey or lemon to taste. Serve and enjoy the smooth, malty flavor of Ceylon black tea OP!
